My mom warned me when we moved in that somebody would fall down the stairs and she hoped it wouldn't be me. A few weeks ago, Ryan lost his balance at the top of the stairs and went down two or three to where Bill was, but he was totally fine -- shaken, but fine.
Well, today, I "lived up" to my mom's prediction. I was carrying down the laundry hamper when somehow the laundry started dumping out. It made for an uneven load ans that knocked me off balance (I already was going very slow since I had strained my hip yesterday) and down I went. I fell maybe 4 stairs, but landed hard on my ankle.
I could not help but cry and started calling out for Jesus's help -- I didn't know if I could get up. My boys ran in to see what was wrong. And my sweet Michael, was quite worried. He started crying too and then asked if he needed to call 911.
I told him no and that I would be okay.
"But you fell down the stairs," he said.
I told him yes, that was true, but I only fell down a few and that if I had fallen down all the stairs, then we would call 911.
He cried some more, and then all three boys started blowing me kisses. It was so sweet to see how tender and loving they were to their klutzy mom. I eventually got up and limped to the kitchen.
I am doing a bit better tonight, but still have some pain in my ankle and hip (which I also landed on and found out from the doc that I pulled/tore some ligaments in my lower back....again! GRRR). But God is good. It could have been SO much worse.
Thank you God for protecting me from harm.
And for these sweet boys who were so concerned about me.

i'm glad you're ok and didn't need 911...but it is good to know that the boys have listened to those conversations and know that if someone is hurt to call! =)
Glad you are ok. Hope you feel back to normal soon!
