I guess I've gotten jam happy this spring/summer....I just counted up the jars in my freezer. 29! YIKES! And I wanted to make more....but where in the world will I put them????
I just experimented with a new recipe for peach-blueberry freezer jam. It's not on the sure-jell boxes, but oh my. it is SO good. I think I'll post it for you jam lovers!
Measure out 4 - 4 1/2 cups sugar.
Puree 1 1/2 -2 cups of peaches in the blender.
Add in enough blueberries so your total amount in the blender is about 2 3/4 cups.
Finely chop 1/2-1 medium size peach.
Add the puree plus the finely chopped peach to the sugar. Mix well. Let stand 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Prepare the pectin (sure jell) as directed. Stir into fruit-sugar mixture for three minutes (or as directed).
Ladle into jars and let set for up to 24 hours before refrigerating or freezing.
My family gave it two thumbs up!

Sounds like fun! I usually make jelly from the crab apple tree in our yard but for some reason it never flowered this year.
Peach/blueberry. Hmm. I tried peach/raspberry a couple years ago. Somehow, peach freezer jam just never appealed to my family. I only like cooked peach jam. But, I may have to try peach/blueberry. We love the blueberry freezer jam.
