First tooth!

Last night was a big night in our house hold! Joshua's first tooth came out! He asked me before kindergarten when he would lose his first tooth. Knowing that my first tooth came out when I was about 5, I told him it would be in kindergarten. Well, the year came and went and he still had all his teeth! 1st grade came and went and still, no loose teeth! His permanent teeth started coming in, but still no loose tooth!

About 10 days ago, he fell on his bike and the top left tooth was knocked pretty loose -- not quite loose enough to pull out (we tried, believe me!), but we knew it would not be long. Last night, I decided we should try to pull it out, so we got out dental floss and tied it on. I think that hurt more than the actual pulling out! My sister helped me by slamming the door and we saw the floss hanging from the door - no tooth. Oh dear, we thought, but then there was blood in his mouth! We looked on the floor and there was the tooth! He didn't even cry when it actually came out. He started giggling and was so excited to have lost a tooth finally!

Here is a close up of his mouth with the hole -- and the new tooth behind it! I can't believe how much has come down already!And finally I got to pull out the Tooth Fairy bear pillow that was given to us at his baby shower 7+ years ago! He was excited to put his tooth in there...and even more excited that he got some money this morning! :-)
