what a week

What a week! We had a wonderful weekend at the coast last weekend with my sisters and their families. My parents were supposed to join us, but my grandma was in the hospital, so they stayed home. (Grandma is doing better and has moved into the local retirement village to get stronger.) I'll try to get my pictures on my computer sometime and post some!

Monday we had a dear friend over for a birthday celebration. The kids played while we visited -- ahhh, catching up is so good!

Tuesday I was knocked down by a HORRIBLE headache. UGH. I tried all my tricks, but nothing helped.

I decided I should see the doctor on Wednesday because it felt like it had turned into a sinus infection, but my van was dead again! This was the 3rd or 4th time in a few weeks -- apparently, my kids leave their doors open a crack and I don't notice it! Double UGH. Thankfully my dad was free to come help me move out the motorcycle (which is for sale by the way -- know anybody who wants to buy a Yamaha v-star?) and the other stuff out of the garage so we could get the car in to jump the van since the van was so dead that it couldn't even be put into gear to roll out of the garage. Finally we got it started and then I headed out....

Turns out I had strep throat! They told me to bring the boys in, so I did and R had an ear infection, M had something (I can't recall anymore), and when J went in after school, he also had strep. They were kind to the two little boys and didn't do a strep test -- they felt since they already had something, the antibiotics would clear strep if they also had it.

Unfortunatly, I had to go to work on Thursday even though I would have loved to stay in bed....grades/attendance are due today and I can't postpone meeting with 8 students! My dear sister came over and watched the boys for me. I am so blessed. My day with my students went well and I got most of my work done so I could come home and rest last night.

Time, rest, and medicine do wonders for a body....I am finally feeling more normal and up to doing chores. Laundry is being done. Food is being made. And the boys are playing -- well, mostly. It's Sesame Street time now, so I get a few minutes on the computer. :-)

And I learned a random fact -- did you know that your eyes blink about 4 million times in a year? I had no clue! The things we can learn online!

I suppose I should make some lunch for my hungry boys....thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings!
