Today marks 4 weeks since Bill was laid off. It has been four weeks of change....I have added more hours to my teaching schedule as well as subbing a few days. Bill has added the job of stay-at-home dad to his life. While it is hard for me to be away, Bill is doing a great job of being with the boys and learning the ins and outs of being home with them all day! Of course, the little boys LOVE being with Daddy too.
The job search is a bit discouraging -- so many people are looking for jobs. Yesterday he went to a job fair in Fresno and we found out on the news that there were 10,000 people there! But God is still faithful and we know He will provide for us.
One good thing about him being off is that he has had time to work on the project we started before he got laid off -- doing a new retaining wall around our backyard. Here are a few pictures of that project.
taking out the old timbers that have fallen apart since we put them in over five years ago

Michael "helping" Daddy load the blocks from the garage to take to the backyard.

The boys had to take a working break to play in the big dirt pile -- what else do little boys need besides a dirt pile?

A swinging break...

Bill putting the last row on the north wall. It looks SO nice!
When he is completely finished, I'll post pictures of that. Great job honey!
