I now have the answer to SAHM's question of "why can't I get anything done?" or "what did you do all day?"
I always have good goals of cleaning up things and getting organized, but then somehow by evening, I find "nothing" got done.
Take this morning for example... I got up and fed Ryan, Bill helped me get Josh off to school, and got Michael up and dressed. I finally got dressed and we ate breakfast. And I started a load of laundry. Then I started cleaning the bathroom this morning, but then Ryan woke and wanted to be fed. So I fed him. Then Michael wanted to go outside, so I went out with him and trimmed the roses. I noticed the lawn had some dry spots, so I decided to check the sprinklers...ah ha! Some broken ones. Come inside and write them down for Bill to fix.
Go back outside, finish some yard work, and pushing Michael on the swing. Hear Ryan crying and come in to get him to feed him -- realize that the bathroom never got finished. Go to finish feeing Ryan, but Michael wanted to come in and have a snack. Get him a snack but realize that I never finished putting away the clean dishes. Finish feeding Ryan and quickly finish the bathroom.
Look at the clock -- time to go for a quick walk before meeting the bus! Take our walk and hope that Michael doesn't need to go potty on the walk (we are potty training -- so add in the 4 potty stops this morning to our routine...I can't remember where they all fell in!). Of course, he did need to go potty, so I knocked on my friend's door...then we got to the bus and came home. Lunch time. Then nap time.
And so on and on and on.
But at least now I have the right answer to the question "what did you do all day?" (or "why didn't the house get cleaned?")
My answer -- I took care of the kids! :-)
Off to get Michael up from his nap and get ready for dinner at church....

Ah yes, but did you ever leave a can of tomato paste in the bathroom and wonder how it got there?
I hear ya gal! How can a woman live a whole day, fall in to bed at the end of exhausted and still wonder what she accomplished? I guess we just say, "We're raising children!"
i hear you even though i don't! ha ha
